A resource for encouraging inclusive LGBTIQA+ conversations
People who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and gender diverse, intersex, asexual and queer (LGBTIQA+) have always been part of our population. However, their experiences and stories have often remained hidden or untold. This has historically contributed to marginalisation, exclusion and discrimination.
Rainbow Talk: 40 Cards For LGBTIQ+ Inclusive Conversations is a resource that invites safe and respectful discussions with young people and adults about the broad scope of human experiences related to biological sex, sexuality and gender.
Each card in the Rainbow Talk set is uniquely designed and features a simple sentence starter that invites deeper conversation. These help participants explore, reflect and ponder their own and others’ experiences in a non-threatening way.
These cards are designed to invite all of us to explore our attitudes, experiences and understanding of identity. It’s also an opportunity for us to identify approaches and perspectives that are inclusive for everyone.
Rainbow Talk can provide lively and engaging conversation that supports a broader understanding of the LGBTIQA+ community, improves community wellbeing and works towards creating a more inclusive society.
