printable visual prompts to spark reflective conversations in a range of settings

SKU: DP1000 Categories: ,
Product Overview

Paperworks is a set of 12 downloadable masters, each with a simple, engaging line illustration, or visual metaphor, with three questions on the back. These fun, light-hearted images are perfect prompts for sparking reflective conversations.

The 12 illustrations include: a light globe, water tank, brick, bottle, torch, elephant, book, footprint, boot, taxi, sparkling moments, and a welcome mat.

Print the images out and place them on tables during a team meeting, group session, or classroom activity. They work equally well in one-on-one conversations or around the kitchen table. You might ask:

  • What sparking moment have you had this week?
  • What would you like to ‘shine a light on’?
  • How do you refill your tank?
  • What’s your message in a bottle?
  • What great idea do you have?
  • What’s your next step?
  • Is there an elephant in the room? What are we not talking about?

Clients, students, colleagues, families, and teams can write on their paper sheets, doodle on them, paint and colour them. Once the conversation is finished, invite people to post them on noticeboards, pin them to a wall, stick them on the fridge, or place them on their desk, as reminders of the conversation. They can also be included in a client record as a summary of your interaction.

You can photocopy both sides of these masters as many times as you like. Use these practical paper tools for conversations about self-care, goal setting, team values, strengths, future planning, naming barriers or issues, and much more!

They are also perfect for reflective practice, supervision, creative writing, as ice breakers or feedback in training … use them anywhere you want to have meaningful conversations.

What's Included?
  • 12 double-sided masters, 210 x 297mm (A4)
  • a booklet full of suggestions for activities

How to Use
  • In training: As an icebreaker, place the sparking moments image on the tables and invite people to share a sparking moment they’ve had this week. Alternatively, ask people to fill it in at the end of the session to describe one takeaway or highlight from the training session.
  • In therapeutic conversations: Place the images on the floor and invite the person to choose one. Use this to talk about a particular challenge they are experiencing or a change they’d like to make. For example, if they choose the tank, you might ask: How full is your tank? What fills your tank? What drains your tank? What is one thing you could do right now to increase the water level in your tank by a couple of rungs?
  • In teams: Invite the team to choose one image each and fill it in before a team meeting. Use these as prompts to talk about challenges, share ideas, and celebrate positive outcomes.

Testimonials

I have a big heart for Innovative Resources and their tools because they’ve really journeyed with me as I’ve grown as a therapist

Pip Westwood, Play Therapist Masters in Child Play Therapy | Undergraduate in Psychology | Private Practice

The most common question we’re asked is how do we talk with children about grief? Innovative Resources cards are a great place to start.

Shelly Skinner, CEO of Lionheart Lionheart’s programs are designed to educate children, teens, and adults about grief and loss.

We regularly used Innovative Resources card sets for team building, debriefing and talking about hopes and pictures of the future. I love the non-prescriptive nature of the cards. They are particularly useful in learning and talking about feelings with people of all ages who are not used to putting language to their feelings.
