This is the digital toolbox version of Funky Fish Feelings.

When it comes to talking about or describing our emotions and feelings, many of us struggle to find the right words. Yet, when we find ways to express our feelings, it can be a transformational and liberating experience.

Funky Fish Feelings is the perfect resource—for people of all ages—to recognise and name their emotions and feelings. These 48 bright, quirky cards include a diverse range of strange and wonderful sea creatures experiencing all kinds of emotions.

As these cards have no words, they are inclusive of people of different ages, with different literacy levels and from different cultures.

Funky Fish Feelings also includes a secret character. On every card, you’ll find a small inquisitive seahorse, who acts as an observer. What is the seahorse noticing?

How to Use

Counselling: Which fish sums up how you are feeling now? Which fish represents you at your happiest in the past week? What were you doing?
Icebreaker in training: Spread the cards on the floor … ask people to choose a character that best describes them and share with the rest of the group.
Family sculpting: Name the members of your family—which fish are they most like? Which fish represents them on a good day/bad day?
The seahorse character: What do you think the seahorse is seeing? Do you think the seahorse might have a different perspective from yours? What can the seahorse see that no one else can see?

Using Funky Fish with children in care
