The Positive Parenting tool box

Additional ideas, information and resources

Congratulations on purchasing the Positive Parenting Cards, one of our most reflective and empowering tools for parents and carers.

As anyone who has been a parent or carer knows, parenting can be challenging at times. During these challenging times, parents may feel ashamed to ask for help or may find it hard to discuss the difficulties they are experiencing. They may also lose sight of the strengths, skills and knowledge they already possess, and could draw on when things get tough. That’s where the Positive Parenting Cards can help.

Each of these 40 cards contains a single sentence-starter inviting people to talk about their experiences of being a parent. All the cards include simple and beautiful illustrations of familiar objects—these subtle images can also be used as prompts for conversations.

This resource is perfect for use with groups, families, expectant parents or carers, to help them reflect on the inevitable ups and downs inherent in parenting.

Now that you have the cards, you will be wanting some fresh and innovative ideas for how to incorporate the cards into your work, and perhaps your life.

In this Tool Box, you will find the digital booklet, which contains lots of ideas about how we can support parents to recognise and build on their strengths and experiences, plus loads of activities and suggestions for how to use the cards in different settings. (This can be printed as an A5 hardcopy booklet).

As a BONUS gift to you, we are giving you access to the digital version of the cards! The digital cards are interactive, making them ideal for building rapport and connection. And because they are digital, you can use them anywhere, anytime.

Feel free to browse this page and get inspired by stories from other people on how they’ve used the cards. And don’t forget to explore the range of other supporting materials and information, which is at your fingertips any time you need it.

This Tool Box is exclusively for people who have purchased the cards. We will continue to add resources and ideas so check in regularly to see what’s new!
